COLUMBIA, MO. • It’s going to be hard enough for teams at full strength to outscore the Tennessee men’s basketball team this season. Missouri learned Tuesday it might be impossible to beat the Volunteers with three core players on the bench.
Tennessee wrestled complete control of the Tigers’ Southeastern Conference opener at Mizzou Arena with a 24-4 run late in the first half of an 87-63 thrashing, doing all that damage with three Mizzou starters out of the game with multiple fouls.
“It was unfortunate,” Tigers coach Cuonzo Martin said after MU’s most lopsided loss on his watch.
