COLUMBIA, Mo. • A couple of surprises developed for Missouri’s softball team Sunday that told the story of the Tigers’ NCAA regional victory over Kansas. But no matter how the drama unfolded at University Field, nothing could shake Mizzou coach Ehren Earleywine’s confidence in his team.
In the double-elimination regional, the Tigers woke up Sunday with two chances to beat Kansas just once in their latest Border War revival. If Mizzou couldn’t win the first game, there’d be another later in the day to decide the regional.
“They weren’t going to beat us twice,” Earleywine said.
