Summer’s heating up and so is Mizzou Football recruiting

Today we’re talking about ‘crootin.

On May 14, Nathan Hurst published a column entitled, “Will Slow and Steady Win the Recruiting Race?” An excerpt:

Drinkwitz and company are swimming in different waters these days. Coupled with potentially a new strategy for investing NIL in high school players, it may be a much slower-paced recruiting cycle than Mizzou fans are used to.

I do sometimes wonder if Drinkwitz reads these columns and smirks, cracks a Diet Coke and thinks to himself, “time to shut these fellas up.”

Since this column published, Mizzou’s 2026 class lost two of the players who were committed at the time and then went on to add seven new players in the ensuing six weeks.
