SEC fines Mizzou for post-Border War court-storming

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Southeastern Conference fined the University of Missouri for violating league policy when MU fans stormed the Mizzou Arena court following Sunday's men's basketball victory over Kansas.

Missouri will have to pay $250,000 because the violation of the SEC's access to competition area policy is the school's second. The first came after a 2023 football game in which the Tigers took down Kansas State on a walk-off field goal.

Normally, that fine would be paid to the opposing school, but because the Border War was a nonconference game, MU's payment will instead be deposited into an SEC scholarship fund.
