Ready-made transfers help overhaul middle of Mizzou's defensive line

COLUMBIA, Mo. — It didn’t take an exhaustive analysis of Missouri’s historically bad defensive season last year to come up with an offseason wish list for the 2022 roster. The Tigers needed help in the middle of their defensive line in a bad way, and didn’t have the luxury of time to only recruit high school prospects who need years of development before they’re ready for the Southeastern Conference.

Mizzou lost three of the four regular defensive tackles in last year’s rotation, from a defense that ranked among the nation’s worst against the run all season. The Tigers needed ready-made reinforcements — ready-made as in right away.
