Not even a bear attack could stop Max Scherzer from making a start

LOOK AT HIM.

A day — A DAY — after breaking his nose during batting practice, Max Scherzer made his scheduled start against the Philadelphia Phillies. What did Scherzer do?

Ho-hum.

Scherzer’s now 164-87 on his career with three Cy Young Awards (plus a runner-up finish). He’s not going to get to 300 wins — it’s going to be difficult for any pitcher to hit that mark again, honestly — but Scherzer is getting closer and closer to locking up a Hall of Fame career. At 34, if Scherzer can stay healthy — maybe wear a cage during batting practice?
