No surgery for Mizzou's Brady

COLUMBIA, MO. • The last thing you want to happen in a spring football game is lose an important player to an injury. That's why Missouri defensive coordinator DeMontie Cross said he felt his stomach drop when defensive end Walter Brady fell to the turf in the second quarter of Saturday's Black and Gold Game. Brady immediately clutched his left knee.

A Freshman All-American last season, Brady was helped off the field and wore a brace on his leg for the rest of the scrimmage. Tigers coach Barry Odom said initial reports from the training staff were positive.
