COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Missouri softball team finds itself in the same spot as a week ago — on the brink of elimination.

Hosting the Columbia Super Regional for the second time in four seasons, No. 7 seed Missouri softball collapsed late in a 6-3 loss to No. 10 Duke, the Atlantic Coast Conference champion, on Friday afternoon at Mizzou Softball Stadium.

A go-ahead double from Aminah Vega, which scored ACC player of the year Claire Davidson in the top of the fifth inning, flipped the script for the Blue Devils, who are now one win away from their first Women’s College World Series appearance.
