MU's Fatony wins national award

COLUMBIA, Mo. • Missouri punter Corey Fatony was named the Ray Guy Player of the Week as the nation’s top punter.

So, the Tigers have that going for them, which is nice.

Fatony, a freshman from Franklin, Tenn., has been one of Mizzou’s most consistent performers through the first half of the season. In Saturday’s 21-3 loss to Florida, Fatony averaged 47.8 yards on nine punts, dropping four punts inside the 20-yard line with no touchbacks. His longest punt of the day covered 61 yards.
