Mizzou's Title IX Office joins softball probe

COLUMBIA, MO. • As the University of Missouri’s investigation of its softball coach now extends beyond the athletics department’s scope, Ehren Earleywine has taken measures to address the behavior that put his job in jeopardy.

Earlier this spring, Mizzou athletics launched an internal review of Earleywine when several players emailed athletics officials with complaints about his abrasive coaching style. While the No. 16 Tigers (42-14) continue their postseason this weekend at No. 2 Michigan (49-5), the university’s Title IX Office has become involved in the investigation and interviewed Earleywine on Monday, a source confirmed.

Shortly after MU began its investigation, the 45-year-old coach began having regular meetings with MU sports psychologist Greg Holliday, whose official job title is director of leadership development in the university system’s human resources department.
