Mizzou's Massey dismissed after arrest for assault

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Wide receiver Maurice Massey’s time with the Missouri football program ended before he ever caught a pass in a game. Massey was dismissed from the football team after his arrest Sunday on suspicion of felony assault.

Massey, 20, a redshirt freshman from Kirkwood High School, had volunteered to opt out of the 2020 season earlier this fall.

At 8 a.m. Sunday, Columbia police responded to the 3200 block of South Old 63 in reference to a disturbance, where officers found probable cause to arrest Massey, Columbia police public information officer Jeffrey Pitts confirmed Monday.
