Mizzou to retire John Brown's No. 50 at home finale

The second portion of Missouri basketball's jersey retirement party will take place March 9 when the Tigers honor former All-American John Brown and raise his No. 50 to the Mizzou Arena rafters. MU will honor Brown, the program's first great star of the 1970s under coach Norm Stewart, at halftime of the regular-season finale against Ole Miss.

Brown, from Dixon, Mo., played for the Tigers from 1970-73 and left as the program's career scoring leader until Ricky Frazier passed him in 1982. Brown's 1,421 points ranks 16th in team history and third-most for a player who played three years at MU.
