COLUMBIA, Mo. — If only Missouri could schedule more games against Mississippi.
After a decade of Ole Miss drubbings, both home and away, the Tigers are suddenly invincible against the Rebels, sweeping the regular-season series with Saturday’s 74-68 victory at Mizzou Arena.
The Tigers came into the season just 3-15 all-time against the Rebels since entering the SEC and had never beaten them twice in a row, much less twice in the same season. But three weeks after a 25-point win in Oxford, Mississippi, the Tigers survived Saturday’s rematch despite nearly blowing a 20-point lead.
Ole Miss fell behind 55-35 early in the second half but got within four points in the final minute as the Tigers committed back to back shot clock violations, then a missed front end free throw by Javon Pickett.
