Mizzou sinks 11 3-pointers in win over Morehead State

COLUMBIA, MO. • Off the top of his head, Cuonzo Martin estimated that Mizzou attempted five 3-pointers that were ill-advised Saturday in spots where an extra pass or attack on the basket would have been better.

Nevertheless, the Tigers relied on those 3s to blow out to a 28-point lead in what ended as a 75-61 win over Morehead State at Mizzou Arena.

Mark Smith might have been included in those five, but Martin wasn’t questioning him after the sophomore guard continued to build on his growing reputation as a shooter.

Smith scored a career-high 22 points with the help of four 3-pointers after entering the game among the most accurate shooters in the Southeastern Conference.
