COLUMBIA, MO. • A handful of duos can lay claim to the title of the Southeastern Conference’s best cornerback tandem. Missouri just saw two strong candidates in Florida’s Jalen Tabor and Quincy Wilson and before that LSU’s Tre’Davious White and Donte Jackson. There’s also Alabama’s Marlon Humphrey and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
It might be time to add Missouri’s Aarion Penton and John Gibson to the list.
Wait, seriously? Yes.
Penton came into his senior season as the most established player in Missouri’s secondary with 26 career starts. The other position was wide open. Position coach Greg Brown joked he needed a “help wanted” sign for the other job.
