Mizzou receivers Chism, Hazelton arrive with urgency

COLUMBIA, Mo. — KeKe Chism’s football career has been one leap of faith after another. That’s just how he describes an unlikely vault from Division II to the Southeastern Conference.

Damon Hazelton Jr. has already performed on the sport’s biggest stage, but he wanted a different experience for his final year of eligibility. He left an established program in the Atlantic Coast Conference for a team trying to regain its footing in the SEC.

Both wide receivers departed places of comfort and gambled they’d stick the landing.

Mizzou is counting on the same.

New coach Eliah Drinkwitz has invested long-term in the wide receiver position, signing four high school prospects in his first recruiting class with several more wideouts targeted for 2021.
