Mizzou pulls away late from Temple to win

PHILADELPHIA — Coming into a hostile arena to face an opponent with a long tradition of winning usually isn’t the best formula to break a three-game losing streak.

But somehow coach Cuonzo Martin’s Missouri Tigers were able to pull it off. Even after seeing a six-point halftime lead slip away when host Temple went on a 12-point tear midway through the second half, Mizzou hung tough.

The Tigers tightened the screws defensively while remaining patient on the offensive end. And after Temple took a three-point lead with just over four minutes left, Missouri closed by scoring 15 of the game's last 17 points to win going away, 64-54.
