COLUMBIA, MO. • Hall of Fame basketball coach Norm Stewart hadn’t heard Missouri planned to bring coach Kim Anderson back for a third season until a reporter shared the news on the phone Wednesday. He was almost speechless that Anderson’s job was considered in jeopardy. Almost.
“Well, why wouldn’t they (bring him back)?” Stewart said of Anderson, who played for Stewart in the 1970s and coached under him in the ’80s and ’90s.
“Do you know what (Frank Haith’s staff) left him? That to me is a huge issue. The other thing is when you’re not apprised of the situation completely, that puts another twist on it.
