Mizzou blue-chipper Terry Beckner Jr. is dominant in fall camp drills

In Missouri's first scrimmage, Newsom was on the field more, even against three and four-wide sets. Often, instead of a nickel back (which is typically another corner or safety), Newsom remained on the field.

A big reason for that is his athleticism. Newsom said he runs a 4.42-second 40, and hopes to get it in the 4.3s by the time his college career is over.

"He (DC Barry Odom) just wants me on the field because I ran a good 40-time," Newsom said. "I want to use my speed as an advantage to help the Tigers win, so he wants to keep me on the field more.
