Dave Matter, the Mizzou sports beat writer for the Post-Dispatch and its website, stltoday.com, has departed after a decade to take the newly created position of assistant athletics director for communications and storytelling at the University of Missouri.
“As we looked to add to our leadership team, we sought to add a dynamic storyteller to help us better express our brand,” MU athletics director Desiree Reed-Francois said in a statement. “... We look forward to having someone of Dave Matter’s caliber joining our team.”
Matter, 45, said better hours and less travel were factors in his decision to make the change.
