COLUMBIA, MO. • A day after Jontay Porter announced his return to the Missouri basketball frontcourt, the Tigers added one of his former teammates from the AAU circuit. Parker Braun, a 6-9 three-star prospect from Overland Park, Kan., committed to Mizzou as a walk-on with the expectation he’ll go on scholarship during the 2019-20 season.
Braun, coming off two straight Kansas Class 6A state championships at Blue Valley Northwest High, holds scholarship offers from several high-major conference teams, including Arizona, Illinois, Louisiana State, Nebraska and Ole Miss.
Instead, he’ll wear the black and gold like his mother, former MU basketball player Lisa Sandbothe (1987-91), and his uncle and aunt, Mike (1986-89) and Lori Sandbothe (1988-90).
