Mizzou Baseball got one of its best starts of the year but failed to gain traction on offense Friday, leading to a 9-2 loss against ninth-ranked Georgia. Seven of Georgia’s nine runs came in the final three innings.
The Bulldogs took the game’s first lead on a solo home run to left field by Nolan McCarthy in the top of the third inning.
That was the only hit Mizzou starter Brady Kehlenbrink allowed in his 4.1 innings on the mound, recording six strikeouts and throwing 74 pitches. All three numbers either tied or set career highs for the true freshman as part of his best outing as a Tiger.
