Earlier this week I made the drive south to Springfield to visit Missouri State coach Dave Steckel and some of his players and coaches, including former Mizzou players-turned-assistants Kenji Jackson and Munir Prince. Former MU receiver Jason Ray also coaches the Bears. Ray and Steckel were part of Mizzou’s 12-win, Big 12 North championship team in 2007, the team Mizzou will honor during halftime of next week’s season opener against … Steckel’s Missouri State Bears.
(Ray, a co-captain in 2007, and Steckel, MU’s linebackers coach that year, will be in the Memorial Stadium locker room with their team during the ceremony, but surely MU will recognize the two coaches on the big screen sometime during the game.
