While baseball was losing its own battles, softball played a closer game and nearly won the first matchup, until later in the game when LSU rallied and overtook Missouri, 3-2.
Saturday’s matchup features a double-header, due to forecasted inclement weather on Sunday. With its recent victory, LSU extended its all-time lead in the series, 10-6.
This season, however, Missouri has played one of the toughest schedules, with 22 games against ranked opponents. Of those 22 opponents, 14 were ranked in the top-10.
Similar to baseball, the softball team’s wins have ebbed and flowed. There hasn’t been any real consistency throughout the season.
