COLUMBIA, MO. • Maty Mauk is a Colonel.
The former Missouri quarterback has signed an athletic grant-in-aid agreement to play for Eastern Kentucky, EKU spokesman Kevin Britton confirmed Friday.
Eastern Kentucky, located in Richmond, Ky., is a Football Championship Subdivision program (formerly Division I-AA) and plays in the Ohio Valley Conference. Mauk can play immediately for the Colonels this fall, his only remaining year of eligibility. He'll likely compete with senior quarterback Bennie Coney, a returning starter who set set several team records last season.
Mauk took part in graduation ceremonies last weekend at Mizzou and on Monday posted a photo of himself on Instagram in an MU cap and gown and holding a diploma, along with the message, "Officially done in Columbia and ready to start the next chapter.
