Matter on Mizzou: Geist, Tigers still playing with a purpose

COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri players bounded out of Stegeman Coliseum Wednesday night convinced they’re still playing for something. With their 25-point thrashing of Georgia, the Tigers have their first winning streak of 2019. The way they’re playing lately, they expect that streak to continue, through Saturday’s home finale against Ole Miss and into next week’s SEC tournament in Nashville.

“You want to get hot at the end of the year,” senior guard Jordan Geist said after a masterful 38 minutes. “You try to get on a roll into the SEC tournament and make something happen.
