Matter on Mizzou: Depth issues could haunt Tigers

COLUMBIA, MO. • Before he got on a plane for Arkansas on Tuesday, Cuonzo Martin took one last question at his pregame news conference about Missouri’s depth.

If you thought that assessment was grim, here’s the bad news: The Tigers could be further shorthanded Saturday when No. 25 Louisiana State brings its eight-game winning streak to Mizzou Arena. Guards Mark Smith and Javon Pickett both left Wednesday’s game at Arkansas with injuries. Their status for Saturday’s 5 p.m. tipoff is uncertain.

The team was grounded in Arkansas overnight Wednesday when its plane had mechanical problems.
