Missouri had multiple chances to salvage the third game of its series at No. 1 Louisiana State on Sunday in Baton Rouge, La., but gave up a walk-off single in the 10th inning to lose 6-5.
LSU (43-8, 19-7 Southeastern Conference) swept the series at Alex Box Stadium and improved to 8-0 all-time against Missouri (28-24, 14-13).
Josh Lester’s seventh home run put Mizzou ahead 3-0 on starter Kyle Bouman in the first inning, but LSU answered off MU starter Peter Fairbanks with two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth for a 4-3 lead.
