LEXINGTON, Ky. • Patrick Towles’ 24-yard touchdown pass to C.J. Conrad gave Kentucky its first lead on Missouri, putting Kentucky in front 14-10 with 1:58 left in the third quarter. Mizzou appeared to stop the Wildcats around midfield, but cornerback Aarion Penton was flagged for pass interference on an incomplete pass, giving the Wildcats new life.
Later on the drive, Towles froze the Missouri defense with a play-action pass to Conrad, his freshman tight end, good for a 24-yard go-ahead score.
The third quarter was even more costly for Mizzou’s defense as safety Ian Simon (head injury) and linebacker Kentrell Brothers (sprained ankle) were both lost to injuries.
