COLUMBIA, Mo. — On his drive to St. Louis for Tuesday’s Mizzou caravan stop at Ballpark Village, football coach Eli Drinkwitz called the one Tigers player who’s sure to get the best kind of phone call this weekend.
Defensive end Isaiah McGuire, Mizzou’s team MVP last fall and an All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection, will be chosen at some point during the NFL draft but could be the only Mizzou player to get the call. The draft kicks off with the first round Thursday and continues Friday and Saturday.
“I know it’s gonna be an anxious few days for several of our players,” Drinkwitz said Tuesday.
