How likely is Mizzou to finish winless in SEC play? Analytics say it’s possible but unlikely.

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Let’s set a betting line. You can’t put money on it if you’re in Missouri, of course, so this is all entirely hypothetical — a matter of science, really.

But the question demands asking: What are the odds that Mizzou men’s basketball will fail to win a Southeastern Conference game this season?

That would be under 0.5 conference wins, in bettor speak. And the chances of it happening depend on the analytics model, but it’s certainly not statistically impossible. Not a prudent financial investment, perhaps, but possibility is there.

MU has nine games left to secure an SEC win, and it has lost nine already.
