Even amidst a misty, cloudy day at Mizzou Softball Stadium, smiles were abound for Mizzou.
Sophomore closer Taylor Pannell ensured there would be joyful memories from the Senior Day contest, striking out the final batter of the game to seal a 4-1 victory for the 14th-ranked Tigers over No. 18 Mississippi State on Sunday.
Pannell’s game-ending, rain-soaked punch out elicited a jubilant reaction from the crowd and culminated in a warm embrace with junior catcher Julia Crenshaw. The emotions continued postgame when MU honored its outgoing seniors Laurin Krings, Jenna Laird, Alex Honnold, Maddie Gallagher and Chantice Phillips.
