GORDO: Mizzou's search for scoring help continues as rivals load up

Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin is still seaching for proven scorers to bolster his flagging program. The pressure to make upgrades is mounting.

The offensively challenged Tigers went 30-33 during the last two years, and Southeastern Conference basketball should bounce back after its down season overall.

Mizzou will likely return the bulk of last season’s team, but that’s not reassuring since it missed 485 of 690 shot attempts from beyond the arc. The Tigers ranked 329th among Division I schools in three-point shooting accuracy.

Their one dynamic player, guard Xavier Pinson, is exploring his pro options. Forward Tray Jackson, a promising four-star recruit, entered the transfer portal after failing to crack the playing rotation.
