From Stanford to Mizzou, Peat could solve Tigers' backfield need

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The question of who will replace Tyler Badie is one of Missouri’s biggest offensive concerns heading into next season, but it’s not an unfamiliar one.

Just 12 months ago, running backs coach Curtis Luper remembers wondering who would emerge to take the bulk of Larry Rountree’s 22.4 touches per game. He knew Badie would get some of those, but didn’t think he could handle that full load.

He was wrong. Badie finished with 322 touches in 12 games on his way to second-team All-American honors.

“What he did last year, there’s not a single person in this building that was convinced that he could have done that, other than himself,” Luper said.
