COLUMBIA, Mo. — While Cody Schrader was watching football with longtime friend and trainer Chico Orlando, he got a glimpse into his future.
And how different it looked from his past.
“We were watching the Alabama-Tennessee game a couple weeks ago at my house on (Schrader’s) bye week,” Orlando said, “and there’s 103,000 people in the stadium, those fireworks went off when Tennessee beat Alabama, and he said, ‘I get to play there in three weeks. I’m going to be in that stadium in three weeks.’”
Ask Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz, and he’ll tell you Schrader is an "American story" — a classic rags-to-riches, up-by-the-bootstraps tale.
