Drinkwitz cites regional match up, holiday travel for choosing Music City Bowl

Happy Monday, Tiger fans. For what should be the fourth straight year, your Missouri Tigers will be bowling.

That certainly isn’t what we expected before the season. After a head coaching change, COVID-19 and a number of injuries/opt-outs, the Tigers beat their preseason prognosticators by finishing with a record of 5-5, giving them one of the better records in the SEC. With four of the conference’s teams in CFP or New Year’s Six bowls, Mizzou got the second choice of bowl games after 6-4 Auburn.

When it was announced that Missouri would play in the Music City Bowl instead of the Outback or Gator Bowl, there was a bit of dissent from the more black and gold corners of the internet.
