Defense clamps down as Mizzou men hold off Pitt for ACC/SEC Challenge win

They call it the Zoo in Pennsylvania, a fair distance and flipped vowel from Missouri’s Zou-termed stomping grounds. But unfriendly confines proved to be no trouble for the Tigers men’s basketball team, which downed Pittsburgh 71-64 Tuesday night on the road.

The win, Mizzou’s second away from home this season, was part of a crossover series between the Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference and gives MU (6-2) two victories over high-major competition already in this campaign.

Two usual scorers and one new face in the starting lineup led the Tigers in production. Guard Sean East II finished with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists.
