That’s the sound Missouri tight end Messiah Swinson heard one day last August. Except he wasn’t eating — he was on the football field.
“Scariest noise I’ve heard in my life,” Swinson said. “My adrenaline kicked in, so I didn’t feel any pain. But I knew that sound was nothing good.”
Swinson tore the ACL in his left knee five practices into last year’s preseason camp. The redshirt freshman was doing an inside run blocking drill, and he was locked up with a defender. He planted his left leg the wrong way. He was out for the season.
