  • The new transfer rule is a one-time waiver. In football, basketball, baseball and men's hockey, you can now transfer once and not have to sit out. If you want to transfer twice you have to go through the old waiver process where you apply for an immediate playing time waiver through the NCAA. That's always a risk. You get five years to compete for four seasons in games. But the 2020-21 season doesn't count against your eligibility limit.
