Seven times in 25 minutes during Tuesday afternoon’s news conference announcing the Cardinals’ signing of veteran innings-eaters Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson, president of baseball operations John Mozeliak made reference to the fact his front office wasn’t viewing its quest for improved pitching as complete.
Lots of offseason left. Not the finish line. Much work to be done. Plenty of time. Keep working.
Mozeliak touched on them all.
Considering it’s a holiday and considering the Cardinals seem to at least for now agree that more help is needed, I’m going to press pause before going bananas about the additions of Lynn and Gibson.
