I don't know if Missouri football coach Barry Odom plans to part ways with defensive coordinator DeMontie Cross, the pal he stripped of play-calling duties in the middle of the Tigers' disappointing 4-8 season.
I don't know if fired Texas coach Charlie Strong would have much interest in stepping back to a coordinator's role, especially if it would include working beneath a head coach who seems determined to keep his play-calling responsibilities.
I do know this: Odom and the Tigers would benefit from a stronger defensive coordinator than Cross. And Charlie Strong is on the market.
The theory surfaced during a press box discussion at Memorial Stadium on Friday, before the Tigers erased a 17-point deficit to stun Arkansas, ending a bad season on a high note.
