BenFred: Drinkwitz's Tigers should be more motivated team in most of Mizzou's remaining games

The most cheerful photo of this Missouri football season might not be the one we all expected — an image of first-year Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz, his face covered with a mask, celebrating with his players after a signature win against defending national champion LSU.

Those locker-room shots are something, sure. But right now I would rank them behind the cell-phone picture snapped by Mizzou assistant athletics director Shawn Davis on Friday afternoon. In the frame was an airplane idling on an empty CoMo runway. Considering the context, it was art.

Finally, 20 days after their last game, the Tigers appear — fingers crossed — to be freed from their COVID-caused grounding.
