There must be something about JQH Arena that makes Zach Howell play at the highest of levels.
Howell, a senior at Catholic, scored 30 points in the Fightin' Irish's 60-55 loss to Paul VI (Virginia) on Thursday night in the first round of the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions.
The performance comes just a few weeks after Howell scored 103 points during a four-day stretch at the 2021 Blue and Gold Tournament — which included a pair of games in which he scored 30 or more.
In his latest performance, Howell kept the Fightin' Irish in a game with one of the better high school basketball programs in the country.
