Former Mizzou basketball star Sophie Cunningham told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that she contracted the coronavirus while living and working out in Springfield over the summer.
Cunningham is currently a member of the Phoenix Mercury. The WNBA is set to restart its 2020 season and postseason at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Cunningham said she wasn't sure how she contracted the virus but she tested positive while working out in Springfield.
"I was training in a private gym, and in gyms, people use the same door handles and use the same floor, which has germs from the ball," Cunningham told the Post-Dispatch.
