Jay Osborne said he didn't know why now is the right time to step aside as Nixa's head boys basketball coach. Knowing that he was entering his 30th year on the Eagles' sideline, he thought it was time to make a change.
Osborne will retire at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season, as was first reported on Sports Talk with Art Hains and Wyatt Wheeler. He is considered one of the great high school basketball coaches in the area's history.
"This is the time for a change," Osborne said in a phone interview with the News-Leader on Thursday night.
