Never in Hartville head coach Brett Reed's wildest dreams did he think his team would finish the season undefeated.

Perfection? No chance. Not with that schedule.

But somehow, someway Hartville had an opportunity to finish an unblemished season off on Saturday night.

And it was a day Reed had been dreading for a long time.

"This group of seniors has been such a big part of my life," Reed said. "I know that they're going to go and make a life for themselves now but I'm going to miss them."

After the final buzzer sounded and the players piled on each other at midcourt and the Eagles had a 43-35 championship win over Monroe City secured, it was over.
