When I was hired by the News-Leader full-time in August 2017, I left behind a job that I was looking forward to doing as a student at Missouri State.
I was going to be the editor-in-chief of The Standard — MSU's student newspaper. While my first love was sports writing, I found that I also had a passion for working with and helping other student journalists.
Three years later, I'm a graduate of the university and still working the sports reporter job that I'm obsessed with, but I've missed working with a sports staff.
