We published my "Wheeler: Missouri State needs a major overhaul in its basketball experience" column last week and it took off beyond what I thought it would. I've never received more phone calls or emails about a story or have been stopped so many times when trying to walk to my seat to cover a basketball game.
The reception was overwhelmingly positive, way more than I'm used to even for my nicest of stories. About 99.9% of what I've been told has been "thank yous" for saying what many diehard Missouri State fans had been thinking for so long as the attendance and atmosphere at men's basketball games have dwindled over the past decade.
