What's wrong with Missouri State baseball? A look before it plays rival-Arkansas on Tuesday

Missouri State baseball finds itself in unfamiliar territory when it hosts nationally-ranked Arkansas on Tuesday night at Hammons Field.

The Bears are 5-16 and are currently dead last in the Missouri Valley Conference standings.

A combination of young pitching, deteriorating hitting and a tough schedule has put the Bears in their current position and this week won't be any easier.

Arkansas is ranked No. 8 in the country by D1Baseball and were a misplayed foul ball away from being national champions a season ago.

The Bears follow by hosting Kansas on Wednesday night. The Jayhawks have lost their last seven games but showed improvement before they got into the conference part of their schedule.
