What Nic Tata's departure means for the current Missouri State men's basketball roster

Missouri State announced on Monday that Nic Tata will forego his fifth year of eligibility to return to his native Australia to pursue a career with the National Basketball League professional circuit there.

Tata played 20 games for Missouri State during his first season in Springfield in 2020-21. This season, the 6-foot-10 forward played in eight games.

In two seasons, Tata scored 53 points and grabbed 34 rebounds in 28 games.

Tata joined the Bears out of Blinn College (juco) in Texas where he played 63 games from 2018-20.

"We wish Nic all the best in his pursuit of becoming a professional basketball player," Bears head coach Dana Ford said in a press release.
